Who would have thought that it's possible to grow beans using cotton? I bet your child hasn't! Try out this fun and easy science experiment to teach them something new! You Will Need:
- 1 glass jar (Mason jar or similar) - 1 package of cotton balls - Bean sprouts (how many is up to you) - Water Step 1: Fill the jar with the cotton balls, so that they are tightly packed in and fill about three-quarters of the jar Step 2: Place a single bean sprout down the side of the jar, so that it is pressed between the cotton and the glass. If you wish to use more than one bean sprout, place them on opposite sides of the jar. Step 3: Carefully water the jar, so that the cotton is damp (but not soaking wet) Step 4: Place the jar in a spot where it can get direct sunlight, such as on a windowsill Step 5: Over the course of the next few days, observe with your child how the bean sprout grows, and how it changes from one day to the next.
