​The Social Cognitive development lab provides a unique window into children’s thinking through considering how children’s social and cognitive development influence their social behaviours. 

​We are interested in:

• how to talk to children to obtain the most honest and accurate reports of their experiences
• Understanding types of questions that may be challenging for children, limiting their reports
• Techniques that can be used to promote honesty with children​

​
Dishonesty is a normal part of social interaction (for both children and adults!)
Understanding the development of this behaviour, how to talk to children about truth and lies, and best practices for obtaining honest reports can be important for parents, teachers and legal professionals alike.

Our research involves fun and interactive games for children that reveal various cognitive abilities! By participating in our research, you are contributing to our overall knowledge about children's social and cognitive development, while also learning about your own child's development!
