Invisible Ink with Lemon Juice

Write a secret message for your child and have them play detective to find it! This is a quick and easy science activity that teaches children how lemon juice reacts to heat!

To do this you will need the following:

• Half a lemon
• Water
• Spoon
• Bowl
• Cotton bud
• White paper
• Lamp or other light bulb

To write your invisible message:

1. Squeeze some lemon juice into the bowl and add a few drops of water. Mix them together.
   
2. Dip the cotton bud into the mixture and write a message onto the white paper.
3. Wait for the juice to dry so it becomes completely invisible.
4. When you are ready to read your secret message or show it to someone else, heat the paper by holding it close to a light bulb.
